37 illegal water connections disconnected in Poochal | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, June 5: The Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department in Kishtwar took decisive action in the Poochal area by disconnecting 37 illegal/unregistered water connections. The drive, led by Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Rajesh Singh, aimed to ensure equitable access to water and maintain a fair and reliable water supply system. Following concerns raised by local residents during a recent Block Diwas programme, the PHE Department visited Poochal to address the issue. The unauthorized connections were causing water shortage and misappropriation of water supply meant for legitimate connection holders. Promptly responding to public grievances, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the PHE Department to disconnect the illegal connections and ensure uninterrupted water supply during the summer season. Executive Engineer PHE, Sunil Sharma, emphasized that similar drives will be conducted in the future to establish a rationalized water distribution system across the district.
