Early Times Report JAMMU, June 5: Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Javid Iqbal, the Department of Botany, Zoology, along with the NSS Unit and IQAC of GDC Kilhotran, came together to celebrate World Environment Day. The theme for this year's event was "Beat Plastic Pollution," aligning with the global campaign slogan. Dr. Tanveer Hussain, IQAC Coordinator, welcomed everyone to the program. During the event, Dr. Barket Ali, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Botany, emphasized the significance of World Environment Day and its mission to raise awareness about environmental protection and sustainability. He highlighted the need for international cooperation to address the challenges threatening the environment and advocated for eco-friendly practices to create a greener and cleaner world. The program showcased student participation, with Muzamil Mustafa (Semester II), Saima Saleem (Semester IV), and others speaking on the theme. Several faculty members, including Dr. Yasar Ahmed (HoD Persian), Yasar Arfat Beigh (HoD Arabic), Majid Gani Zargar (HoD Economics), and more, actively engaged in the event.
