Jammu, June 5: Powergrid Corporation Of India Limited (Powergrid) celebrated World Environment Day by organizing plantation drives and awareness talks across its establishments in Northern Region-II. The company emphasized the importance of LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), a program launched by the Prime Minister. Employees took the LiFE Pledge during the event. At the Regional office in Jammu, Executive Director Northern Region-II, Sh. Rajesh Kumar, along with senior officers and employees, planted trees to demonstrate their commitment to a greener and healthier environment. Sh. Rajesh Kumar also distributed apparels to contract workers to promote personal hygiene. As part of the event, Dr. T.R.Raina, an expert on Yoga and naturopathy, delivered a talk on "Adopt Healthy Lifestyles with Sustainable Food Systems," which was streamed live to all establishments in Northern Region-II. Sh. Rajesh Kumar highlighted the significance of incorporating the seven themes of the LiFE mission into daily routines for a better life and environmental preservation.
