Early Times Report JAMMU, June 8: Bharatiya Jain Sanghatan and Environment Unit of MIER College of Education conducted a plantation drive by planting around 20 fruits bearing, and medicinal plants in the institution. Sandeep Jain, State President of the Sanghatan, Monika Jain, General Secretary, members of the Jain Sanghatan, officials from J&K Forest Department, student members of the Environment Unit, and faculty of the College were part of the plantation drive. To commemorate the day, Jammu Municipal Corporation also collaborated with the College to organize a cleanliness campaign. More than 100 students from the UG and PG departments participated in this drive. Students actively supported this initiative as a mass movement towards living an environmentally conscious lifestyle and donated old clothes, books, plastic debris, and e-waste. Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson MIER, thanked the Bhartiya Jain Sanghatan for their support and choosing MIER institution as part of their green initiative. Director and Principal, MIER College Dr. Adit Gupta praised the students' involvement in raising awareness in society and emphasized the necessity for action as well as awareness when it comes to environmental preservation.
