JAMMU, June 8: The Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch Jammu, has successfully arrested Bittu Singh and Kewal Krishan, both sons of Bali Ram from Nagali, Tehsil Basohli, District Kathua, in connection with the incest rape case under FIR No. 30/2017 U/S 341, 376, 506/RPC P/S Basohli. The accused had been evading arrest for an extended period but were apprehended in Delhi and Surjan Mangyar, Bani, District Kathua through coordinated efforts by the vigilant CB Jammu team.
The case originated from a complaint lodged by Bali Ram, alleging rape, and was transferred to Crime Branch Jammu for a thorough investigation. Substantial evidence, including FSL opinion, was collected, and charges were filed against the accused, including Bittu Singh and Kewal Singh, who were absconding. The charge sheet was produced in court, and the absconding accused were constantly changing locations within and outside the UT of J&K to avoid arrest.
Following their apprehension, the accused Bittu Singh and Kewal Singh have been handed over to Police Station Basohli for further legal proceedings. |
