Early Times Report JAMMU, June 17: In a significant development, Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu, Tahir Khurshid Raina, framed charges against Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, the former Special Secretary Home of Jammu and Kashmir, for manipulating his date of birth in official records. The case originated when the Crime Branch, Jammu, received a complaint from the Law Secretary to the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, alleging that the accused had falsified his date of birth in his service records. The accused, identified as Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, had recorded his date of birth as March 3, 1963, instead of the actual date of March 3, 1959. This manipulation allowed him to extend his service and gain illegitimate benefits while causing financial loss to the state exchequer. Following a discreet inquiry conducted by the government, it was established that Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din had intentionally forged his date of birth and conspired with others to obtain monetary gains unlawfully, leading to charges under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, and 120-B of the RPC. A formal case was registered with the Crime Branch, Jammu, and an investigation commenced. |
