Jammu, June 18: Natrang Theatre series 'Sunday Theatre' featured an uproarious performance of the Urdu comedy play 'Jhootha Khwaab' today. Written by Shoukat Thanvi and directed by Neeraj Kant, the play captivated audiences of all ages with its clever humor. The play begins with 'Jhumman Miya' waking up from a terrifying dream, convinced that he will die that day at 4 a.m. His belief stems from a visit in his dream by his father and grandfather, whom he trusts implicitly. With only two hours remaining, Jhumman Miya frantically gathers his family and servants, focusing on settling financial matters before his assumed demise. Amidst the chaos, the clock strikes four, and Jhumman Miya believes he has passed away. His distraught wife mourns his "death" while he peacefully sleeps, only to wake up later realizing that it was all a false prophecy. Through Jhumman Miya's character, the play satirizes the greed and materialism prevalent in society. The outstanding performance featured talented young artists from Natrang, including Mihir Gujral, Saanvi Anand, Aadesh Dhar, Abhimanyu Choudhary, Sheryaar Salaria, and Sushane Dulloo. Neeraj Kant designed and executed the lighting, while Vanshika Pandoh composed the music. The coordination was handled by Mohd. Yaseen, and Chirag Anand facilitated the presentations. |
