Farooq visit Baltal, reviews status of Amarnath preparedness | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 20: National Conference President and Member Parliament Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday visited Baltal in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district and reviewed the status of arrangements made for the Amarnath Pilgrims. The 62-day-long annual Amarnath Yatra begins from July 1 from the twin routes of Pahalgam in South Kashmir and Baltal in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district. Farooq hoped that the yatra would commence on a good note and no untoward incident or natural calamity occurs during the two month long Yatra period. "I pray to the God that there shouldn't be any untoward incident including heavy rainfall or landslides during the period which could hamper the Yatra", he said and added "the pilgrims should complete the Yatra happily and with blessing from here". The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister expressed happiness after going through the arrangements put in place for the visiting pilgrims on the shortest route of Baltal side He said the 100 bed base hospital with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) facility is one of the best health facilities for the pilgrims. However, he observed that the number of female nurses is less in the hospital and urged the authorities to take appropriate measures to increase the staff. He said other health facilities on the way to the holy Cave are also well equipped . |
