Secretary Ministry of I&B reviews functioning of PIB & CBC Jammu, discusses merger | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 1: The Secretary of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Apurva Chandra, visited the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) in Jammu to review their functioning and discuss the merger of CBC and PIB. During the visit, Chandra received a briefing on the outreach programs conducted by CBC and its field units in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the important role of PIB and CBC in projecting the transformation of J&K and Ladakh at the national level. Shri Chandra also praised the outreach programs conducted by CBC and the media coverage provided by PIB in remote areas. Chandra highlighted the trend of hosting national-level conferences in J&K, such as the G20, and emphasized the role of PIB and other media units in promoting such events nationally and internationally. He further expressed the plan to increase media tours between J&K and other regions. During the visit, Joint Director of CBC J&K Ladakh, Shri Ghulam Abbas, briefed the Secretary on the significance of field units and the importance of outreach programs for effective communication at the grassroots level. He also provided an overview of the outreach programs conducted in remote locations like Kargil and Machhedi. Ayushi Puri, Deputy Director of CBC J&K Ladakh, presented the annual action plan of CBC and highlighted the planned programs for the financial year 2023-24. She also discussed the social media activities of CBC J&K and Ladakh and shared pictures showcasing the participation and innovative activities in the outreach programs. Officials present during the visit included DDG DD and AIR, Shri Ravikanta Babu, Deputy Director (News) DD and AIR, Shri Ramesh Raina, and other officials from PIB and CBC. |
