If elected will ensure J&K’s all-round development: Azad | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 9: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday assured people of all-round development of the far-flung areas of Jammu and Kashmir if his party was voted to power in the Union Territory. The former J & K Chief Minister gave the assurance after paying obeisance at the revered shrine of Rangia Imam in Shahdara Sharief Uri of north Kashmir's Baramulla district. "The people of Uri, Karnah, Poonch where a massive earthquake struck on October 8, 2005, are fully aware of the immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation measures which I as chief minister implemented," he said and added "your new houses stand testimony to my sanctioning of grant for quake-hit victims," Azad said while addressing the people. He said not only new houses were constructed but fresh roads were also built to the last village of Mandiyaan in Kamalkote. "All the new roads in Uri, Karnah, Rajouri and Poonch were constructed during my tenure under PMGSY programme which I got approved from the Centre for J&K," Azad said. |
