UIET, Jammu University organizes webinar

KATHUA, July 10: Under the newly launched Expert Lecture Series, University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Kathua Campus (JU) organized an Academic Excellence Webinar (4th in the series) on the topic "Demystifying Machine Learning: Unveiling the Power of Intelligent Algorithms" by Dr. Archana Pandita, Associate Professor, Westford University College, Dubai (UAE).
Dr. Pandita, in her talk, explored the concepts and applications of machine learning and shed light on its potential to revolutionise the future. She said that machine learning is a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) that focuses on developing algorithms and models capable of learning from data and making predictions or decisions without explicit programming. She emphasised that machine learning has rapidly emerged as a powerful technology and is driving innovations across various industries. She further added that in this era of technological advancement, machine learning has emerged as a transformative force, shaping various aspects of our lives. We all have the opportunity to delve into this fascinating field and explore the incredible potential of intelligent algorithms.
Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Rector, Kathua Campus (JU) expressed gratitude towards the resource person for presenting an informative lecture to the students of the campus. She said that machine learning has emerged as a game-changing technology and that it is crucial for individuals and organisations to understand its potential and harness its power effectively. She further added that rather than being explicitly programmed to perform specific tasks, machine learning systems learn and improve from experience. She also said that through these lecture series, the Campus aims to bridge the knowledge gap and inspire attendees to explore the endless possibilities of contemporary times.
Dr. Sourabh Shastri, I/C Coordinator, UIET, Kathua Campus (JU) introduced and welcomed the eminent speaker and thanked her for providing the attendees with valuable insights into the fascinating world of machine learning. Dr. Nisha Choudhary coordinated the whole programme and Er. Sushant Gagal delivered the vote of thanks.
