Kashmir netas take credit for 10 Kilogram additional ration for 57 lakh J&K households | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 10: Even as the Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on July 8 announced 10 Kilogram additional ration at subsidized rates for priority households of UT under Prime Minister’s Food Supplementation Scheme for Priority households, the politicians of Kashmir are busy to take credit for the same. Former Chief Minister and Democratic Progressive Azad Party DPAP President Ghulam Nabi Azad hailed the union government and JK government saying “together we can make positive impact.” “Big thanks to the Home Minister @AmitShah Ji, LG @manojsinha_ Ji for heeding our protests & announcing 10Kilogram additional ration for 57 lakh households in J&K. Our united efforts have paid off, bringing relief to countless families across several districts. Together, we can make a positive impact!,” Azad said in his social media post. Former Minister and Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari also made similar claims. Bukhari who recently called on the LG said, “Met Hon’ble LG Shri @manojsinha_ ji to extend gratitude for granting 10 Kilograms of additional ration to over 57 lakh ‘priority households’ inJ&K at subsidized rates. Putforth several other demands of immediate importance before shri @manojsinha_ ji during the meeting to which he assured timely redressal. @OfficeOfLGJandK,” Bukhari said. Other politicians have also been saying that they played a role in the grant of additional ration for JK households. One of the youth leaders of Kashmir however took a dig at those taking credit for something done by New Delhi. “Every achievement in Kashmir becomes a credit-grabbing contest for some spineless politicians. True leadership lies in service and humility, not in seeking validation. Let’s focus on collaboration and progress, not divide for self-aggrandizement,” Mir Junaid, who heads of Jammu and Kashmir Workers Party said on his social media handles. The LG on Saturday last announced the additional ration at subsidized rates for priority households. Addressing a press conference at Rajbhawan here, the LG said that priority households in J&K are already getting 5 Kilogram ration free per member per family. “From now onwards, 10 Kilogram additional ration will be provided to each family covered under priority households. In J&K, 14.32 lakh ration card holders and 57,24000 families will be covered under Prime Minister’s FSS for priority households in the UT,” he said, adding that welfare of the poor was the top priority of J&K administration. |
