Tarun Chugh reaches Srinagar to pacify annoyed leaders | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 13: A week after senior leaders of the party raised a banner of revolt against humiliating treatment by juniors, national general secretary of BJP Tarun Chugh, who is also Prabhari of J&K BJP, reached Srinagar to pacify the enraged lot. Accompanied by the general secretary of J&K BJP and former minister Sunil Sharma Tarun Chugh participated in the Tiranga Yatra in Srinagar with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of “Meri Matti Mera Desh”. Highly placed sources said that after reaching Srinagar Tarun Chugh individually met some leaders who have earlier aired their anger against the style of working of some “immature” leaders who were given some organizational assignments in Kashmir Valley. “Tarun Chugh patiently listened to the grievances of enraged leaders and assured them that issues raised by them would be addressed”, sources said and added that Chugh assured that all senior leaders would be given respect and honour in the party and action will be taken against those who are responsible for demonizing senior leaders. Sources said that the majority of the annoyed leaders levelled serious allegations against three leaders who have already been removed from their posts. Sources further said that keeping in view the forthcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies elections, BJP is not ready to take any chance in Kashmir Valley so the party has decided to placate all senior leaders who are unhappy over the treatment being meted out to them. Sources further said that party leadership is thinking to take action against some more leaders in the days to come. “After listening to the grievances of all senior leaders who have shown their anger, Tarun Chugh will prepare a report so that strict action will be taken against erring leaders who will be held responsible for discontent in the Kashmir unit of the party”, sources said. |
