Prof Bechan Lal pays tribute to freedom fighters on 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day', 'Independence Day'

JAMMU, Aug 16: The tireless efforts and sacrifices of freedom fighters have paved the way for India's independence and its progressive trajectory, stated Vice Chancellor of Cluster University Jammu, Bechan Lal. He made this remark during the closing ceremony of the medium ICOP organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, J&K, Ladakh Region. The event revolved around the themes of 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day' and 'Independence Day,' as part of the larger initiative 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav' (AKAM) and 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' at MAM College, Jammu.
In his address, Bechan Lal underscored the significance of India's independence and the relentless struggle that went into achieving it. He emphasized that it is the dedicated efforts and sacrifices of the freedom fighters that have shaped India's present and continue to guide its journey towards progress.
During the conclusion of the ICOP, Joint Director CBC J&K, Ladakh Region, Gh. Abbas highlighted the various government schemes that are aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens. He encouraged the participating students to take full advantage of these initiatives and contribute to their success.
The Deputy Director of CBC J&K, Ladakh Region stressed the importance of understanding the sacrifices of freedom fighters as a means to instill a strong sense of nationalism in the youth. She expressed confidence in the younger generation's potential to lead the nation towards a brighter future. She extended her gratitude to MAM College for their support and acknowledged the participation of various government schools, SOS Balgram, Polytechnic College, and FPA CBC Kathua for making the event a success.
Prominent personalities such as Suraj Prakash Rakhwal, Special Secretary of Disaster Management J&K, Kanta Rakhwal, Special Secretary of the School Education Department, J&K, and Ranvijay Singh, DSW of Cluster University, Jammu, marked their presence during the event. Prof. Monica Sharma, Dean of Humanities and Liberal Arts at Cluster University Jammu, also graced the occasion.
The students from various government schools in Jammu participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their talents in singing, dancing, drawing, and other activities. Their vibrant performances earned them prizes, thereby celebrating the spirit of patriotism and remembrance on this significant occasion.
