Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 26: Humanity Public School was honored with a special award during a ceremony held in a special assembly to recognize its exceptional fundraising efforts by HelpAge India, an organization committed to addressing the concerns of the elderly and supporting initiatives for the elderly. Students and staff of Humanity Public School demonstrated remarkable social responsibility by raising a substantial amount of Rs. 2,40,135 (Two Lakh Forty Thousand One Hundred and Thirty-Five) for HelpAge India. The school has been actively participating in fundraising activities in collaboration with HelpAge India for seven years. The ceremony saw the presence of Neeru Khajuria (Senior Executive, HelpAge India), who presented a special award of honor to the school administration, including School Principal Gaurav Charak, Vice-Principal Anku Charak, Akashdeep Raina (Senior Incharge), Keshav Raj Sharma (Incharge, Hr. Secondary Wing), Namarta Sharma (Incharge, Senior Wing), and Mrs. Vandana Sharma (Incharge, Primary Wing). Among the recipients of the award were a total of 40 students recognized for their fundraising achievements. Out of these, 11 students were awarded by Mrs. Neeru Khajuria, and 29 students received badges, caps, and certificates from HelpAge India. Notable fundraisers from the primary wing included Preet Kour of 3rd A, Mohd. Asad of 2nd A, and Mukund Singh of 4th C, who raised Rs. 3830, Rs. 2535, and Rs. 2115, respectively. Shivansh of 7th B, Tehjeeb of 7th B, and Basu Ragotra of 8th were the highest fundraisers from the Middle wing, collecting amounts of Rs. 2350, Rs. 2000, and Rs. 1850, respectively. Similarly, the five highest fundraisers from the Senior and Hr. Secondary Wing were Tanisha Keyala of 11th A (Rs. 2400), Taniya of 12th A (Rs. 2400), Aryan Kumar of 9th C (Rs. 1750), Bhumika Charak of 10th B (Rs. 1310), and Aditi of 11th C (Rs. 1310). The class teachers who provided consistent support and guidance to the students were also acknowledged and awarded for their contribution. Sheetal Gorkha from the Primary Wing, Rity Jamwal from the Middle Wing, and Meenakshi Gupta from the Hr. Secondary Wing were appreciated for their efforts. Neeru Khajuria (Senior Executive, HelpAge India) praised the students' generous and sincere efforts, stating, "We love the school's commitment to the challenge, and you are the most successful school that has taken part in this fundraising." HelpAge India expressed gratitude towards the students, their parents, teachers, and the school administration for their remarkable contributions. Gaurav Charak, the School Principal, upon receiving the award, emphasized that participating in such activities is an integral part of the school curriculum. He stressed the importance of the younger generation's contribution in fostering respect and responsibility towards senior citizens.
