Jammuites agitating on streets, Congress felicitating CWC members in Srinagar

Jammu, Aug 26: While as people of Jammu region are agitating on the streets against installation of pre-paid smart electricity meters and collections of toll tax at Sarore Toll Plaza, leadership of main opposition party of this region Congress was busy in facilitating newly appointed members of the Congress Working Committee (CWC).
Congress today organized a function at Srinagar to felicitate newly appointed members of the CWC. AICC incharge Jammu and Kashmir Rajni Patil came especially to attend this function.
Netizens on social media criticized Congress leadership for organizing felicitation function today especially when all political parties except BJP have given a call for Jammu Bandh.
As per official statement issued by the party, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday felicitated recently appointed CWC Members at Srinagar Party Office and expressed gratitude to Congress High Command for adequate representation granted to J&K at National Level.
JKPCC in a Party workers’ function presided over by President Vikar Rasool Wani felicitated AICC Incharge J&K Rajani Patil over her re-induction as AICC Incharge and induction of former JKPCC President G A Mir Tariq Hameed Karra (reinducted) and NSUI President Neeraj Kundan in Congress Party’s highest decision making body.
Kundan who is out J & K could not attend the function at Srinagar Party Office.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikar Rasool Wani expressed satisfaction over the heartening representation of J&K in CWC and hoped that the Congress Leadership in unison will be able to overcome the challenges and ensure that Congress Party emerges stronger in coming days.
On this occasion Wani highlighted the various issues confronting people of J&K and urged the Party workers to connect with the people and launch a vigorous campaign against BJP’s wrong policies to make them accountable and answerable to people.
AICC J&K Incharge Rajani Patil congratulated Party workers for induction of G.A.Mir, Tariq Hameed Karra and Neeraj Kundan in the highest decision making body of INC while expressing confidence in their organizational skills and political experience. Patil asked the Party workers to remain committed to the cause of serving and strengthening the Party to the best of their ability and also laid emphasis over maintaining discipline in the Party ranks.
