PPND GDC organizes symposium on "Nashamukt Bharat" | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Aug 26: PPND Government Degree College (GDC) Samba, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, organized an impactful symposium on "Nashamukt Bharat" (Drug-Free India). The event aimed to raise awareness about the perils of drug abuse and promote a collective effort to combat this pressing issue. The symposium welcomed Prof (Dr.) Twinkle Suri as the Chief Guest and Sh. Nawaz Sharif, District Social Welfare Officer, as the Guest of Honour. The symposium attracted a diverse audience, including NCC and NSS volunteers, teachers, and representatives from the Social Welfare Department. Ten students from Semester 5 and 3 delivered insightful presentations, shedding light on the root causes of drug abuse, its detrimental effects, and the significance of creating a supportive environment for those grappling with addiction. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with Nikhil Singh (5th semester) securing the 1st position, followed by Sneghi Sambyal (3rd semester) in the 2nd position, and Shubham (5th semester) clinching the 3rd position. Sh. Nawaz Sharif highlighted the collaboration between the Social Welfare Department and GDC Samba, emphasizing their joint commitment to combat drug abuse through awareness and empowerment of the youth. The symposium aimed to provide a platform for open dialogue and knowledge-sharing, equipping attendees to advocate for change within their community. Dr. Twinkle Suri, the Principal of the college, underscored the significance of the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" campaign. She encouraged the young learners to channel their energy in a positive direction, aligning with the goal of building a self-reliant India. The symposium's purpose resonated with the broader national initiative to create a drug-free and progressive society. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks extended to all participants, sponsors, and volunteers who contributed to its success. The symposium concluded with the recitation of the National anthem. The NCC and NSS wings of the college played an integral role in organizing the event, further reinforcing the institution's commitment to societal welfare and education. |
