Early Times Report REASI, Aug 26: In its efforts to address habitual criminals and individuals engaged in recurring heinous crimes, the district police of Reasi have taken action by booking a notorious criminal under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and subsequently lodging him in Sub Jail Reasi. The criminal in question is Mukhtiyar Ahmed, aged 25, son of Nazir Ahmed, resident of Chassana, near Dak Bunglow, Mahore Tehsil, District Reasi. Known for his desperate and habitual involvement in thefts and illicit liquor smuggling, Mukhtiyar Ahmed has a history of criminal activities. He has been named in multiple cases, including those registered under FIR No. 68/2017 U/S 48-A Excise Act, FIR No. 26/2018 U/S 457/380 RPC at Police Station Mahore, FIR No. 244/2017 U/S 48-A Excise Act at Police Station Reasi, FIR No. 479/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC, FIR No. 480/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC, FIR No. 478/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC at Police Station Udhampur, FIR No. 115/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC, FIR No. 116/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC, FIR No. 104/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC at Police Station Chenani, FIR No. 12/2023 U/S 457/380/34 IPC at Police Station Kangra, and FIR No. 17/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC at Police Station Dharamshalla, Himachal Pradesh. Considering his consistent involvement in theft-related activities and his influence on local youth to engage in similar criminal behavior, it was deemed necessary to take stringent action against him to prevent further criminal activities and safeguard the younger generation from falling into a life of crime. On the directives of Amit Gupta, JKPS Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, a dossier outlining his history and criminal activities was prepared and submitted for necessary detention orders to the District Magistrate of Reasi. Following this, District Magistrate Babila Rakwal issued the detention order under PSA, leading to Mukhtiyar Ahmed's arrest and subsequent confinement in Sub Jail Reasi. SSP Reasi emphasized that the Reasi Police is committed to ensuring public safety and eradicating notorious criminals from society, thereby fostering a safer environment for the community. |
