GDC Samba celebrates UT Foundation Day with Badalta Jammu Kashmir Stage 1 Contest

SAMBA, Oct 27: PPND Government Degree College Samba organized a vibrant intramural celebration in honor of UT Foundation Day, highlighting the remarkable developments of "Badalta Jammu Kashmir, Badhta Jammu Kashmir, Aman aur Taraqqi Ki Nayi Tasveer" (Changing Jammu and Kashmir, Progressing Jammu and Kashmir: A New Vision for Peace and Development). The event underscored the evolving landscape of higher education in the region. Students showcased their talents in a Stage 1 competition that featured categories like Essay Writing, Videography, Photography, and Painting. The event was held under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
Dr. Twinkle Suri, the Principal of the college, praised the creative efforts of the students, as they portrayed the innovative journey of higher education in recent years.
The theme for the Essay Writing Competition was "Changing Jammu and Kashmir, Progressing Jammu and Kashmir: A New Vision for Peace and Development." Seema Devi secured the 1st position, followed by Mansi Sharma and Mansi Charak in the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
In the Videography Competition, students exhibited their creativity through the lens, presenting the transformative journey of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Varun Singh claimed the 1st prize, with Raju Kumar and Deepak Singh securing the 2nd and 3rd positions. The Photography Competition featured students capturing moments that epitomized progress in Jammu and Kashmir. Vineet Sharma won the 1st position, while Kasak Gupta and Shivani Sharma secured the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
The Painting Contest was adorned with remarkable artwork on canvas, reflecting the advancements made in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Saloni Sambyal clinched the 1st position, followed by Antakbi Dubey and Tarun in the 2nd and 3rd positions.
All competitions were adjudicated by the eminent faculty of the college. The 1st place winners in each category will represent their respective colleges in the 2nd stage Intercollegiate District Level Competition. Dr. Joginder Singh, Coordinator IQAC, expressed his gratitude to the Coordinating Literary and Cultural Committees for the successful execution of the event.
