DC Srinagar Reviews Preparations for National Unity Day and UT Foundation Day Observance

SRINAGAR, Oct 27: In order to finalize the preparations in connection with the observance of National Unity Day(Rashtriya Ekta Diwas-2023) and UT Foundation Day(Youm-e-Tasees) on 31st October, a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad here at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex.
Besides, Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, the meeting was attended by Nodal Principal Colleges, General Manager DIC, Programme Officer, ICDS, all Superintending Engineers, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, District Statistical & Evaluation Officer, Chief Sanitation Officer and other District and Sectoral Officers.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner discussed details of events planned to be organized in line with the program outlined by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs as part of the Rashtriya Eikta Diwas. The DC also deliberated about the formulation of the plan for organising programmes/activities to highlight the transition, transformation, development and achievements of the last four years of Srinagar District on the occasion of UT Foundation Day.
The DC emphasized that all Departments in close coordination shall incorporate multiple activities such as cleanliness drives, debates, painting competition, plantation drives, sports events, health and wellness camps besides showcasing the positive transformations that have taken place in the District from the last four years.
The District Officers were asked to make a repository/compendium of the activities showcasing the developmental achievements of last four years of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of UT Foundation Day (Youm-e Tasees) through art exhibitions, paintings, debates, Run for Unity, Images of completed projects, heritage sites besides the achievements by individual departments.
The DC further asked the Officers to ensure celebration of the events with zeal and enthusiasm with active participation of PRIs and other persons from all sections of society. He also stressed on timely uploading of developmental works completed during the last four years on the designated portal.
