Early Times Report DODA, Dec 15: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh, in presence of SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom, chaired a meeting here today to assess the progress and challenges faced by various government departments in handling the court cases. In attendance were Deputy Director of Prosecution, DKR Range, Satish Sharma and other Prosecution Officers. The meeting shed light on several issues, including manpower shortage, salary concerns, and obstacles affecting the prosecution process. The stakeholders gave details of court cases involving different government departments pending in the subordinate courts of Doda and Bhaderwah. The prosecution team emphasized the key aspects for successful convictions, both in criminal and settlement of civil cases. Specifically, they called for support for government departments. The DC, along with other officials present, recognized the need to streamline departments and emphasized the urgency of expediting the Narcotic cases. The SSP urged officers to prioritize these cases for steady prosecution of the accused persons. Additionally, attention was drawn to cases related to drug trafficking, highlighting the need for a strategic approach during prosecution procedures. The members of the standing council emphasized the constraints affecting the prosecution process and the necessity for better coordination. In response, the DC urged immediate action on crucial court cases to ensure dispensation of prompt justice to victims. He also sought comprehensive information on court cases from stakeholder departments. Additionally, the DC stressed the importance of holding regular meetings to address hindrances and enhance the handling of prosecution matters. Moreover, officers were instructed to promptly report the conviction of any government employee and to avoid incorrect FIR practices during prosecution procedures. |
