JAMMU, Dec 15: Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Shetal Nanda, today flagged off a group of 250 children selected from all districts of Jammu and Kashmir escorted by 10 Coordinators/Caretakers to Jaipur and New Delhi for a 12 day exposure visit under “Wattan Ko Jano” Youth Exchange Programme of Department of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Affairs, MHA, Gol. The visit is aimed at to expose the youth to cultural and social diversity Of the country. The flag off ceremony was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Rehabilitation council, Social Welfare Department in collaboration with Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The youth exchange programme will enable the participating youth especially victims of militancy and children from Palaash and Parish Homes, run by Social Welfare Department and other Orphanages, connect socially, culturally and emotionally with rest of the Country. Under “Watan Ko Jano” Youth Exchange Programme, the youth are being given a firsthand experience on the diverse social and cultural heritage and the technological progress of the country. Among others, Executive Director, J&K Rehabilitation Council, Ishfaq Ahmad Wani and other concerned officers were also present during the flag off program. |
