Police seize immoveable, moveable properties of drug peddlers in Poonch

Jammu: Police on Friday seized moveable and immoveable properties worth lakhs of notorious drug peddlers in Poonch District.
According to the details available with Early Times Poonch Police attached a single storey residential house belonging to Shakar Din son of Noor Din of village Degwar, Terwan Tehsil Haveli District Poonch valuing Rs 45,86,015 and one JCB excavator bearing No. JK12B-6168 valuing Rs 33 lacs.
Police also seized one Mahindra tractor bearing no. JK12 C -4438 valuing Rs 9 lakhs belonging to Mohammad Yaseen son of Saif Din of Degwar Terwan Tehsil Haveli District Poonch under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.
A police official said, “ The residential house and vehicles were identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Poonch Police. The property was prima facie accrued from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the owners.”
He said that the drug peddlers are involved in case FIR NOs:-
i) 42/2023 U/S 8/21/22/27(A)/29/60 Of NDPS Act Of PS Sunderbani and ii) 77/2023 U/S 13/17/18/20/23/38/39 UA(P)A ,4/5 ESA ,8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of PS Poonch.
It’s in place to mention here that last month one double storied residential house valuing in lakhs and motor vehicles jointly belonging to notorious drug peddlers Mehmood Hussain, Zaffar Iqbal and Javid Iqbal all sons of Talib Hussain of Deri Dabsi A/P Kotian , Mendhar were also attached by Police U/S 68-F of NDPS act.
A police officer said, “ Action against the peddlers reaffirms the commitment of Poonch Police to combat the drug menace.”
