Deputy Inspector General Inaugurates 2nd J&K Masters Cricket Championship

JAMMU, Jan 4: Shakti Pathak, Deputy Inspector General of Police JKS Range, inaugurated the much-anticipated 2nd Masters Cricket Championship at M.A. Stadium Jammu. The event was graced by the presence of dignitaries including DIG Railway Jammu Haseeb Ur Rehman, SSP RK Bhat, SSP Abdul Waheed Shah, SSP Rashid Bhat, M.D. of Horizon group of companies Ashish Singh, Former Ranji Player & event coordinator Rajesh Gill, CPO Amir Almansoor, and Dy.S.P. Sagar Singh.
The championship, jointly organized by Range Police Headquarters Jammu and Jammu & Kashmir Veterans Cricket Association under the supervision of DIG Jammu, DIG Railway Jammu, Arun Gupta (President JK VCA), and Rajesh Gill, promises to be a showcase of cricketing talent, uniting passionate cricketers from J&K, Punjab, Delhi, and M.P.
DIG Jammu, Shakti Pathak, commended the efforts of the executive members and coordinators for conducting this mega event. He emphasized the importance of sports in promoting a healthy lifestyle and diverting the youth away from drugs and illegal activities. The Deputy Inspector General also acknowledged the sponsors and co-partners for their significant contributions, making the championship a grand success. He hinted at more such events in the future to keep senior cricketers and officers fit, motivating others to participate in sports for a healthier life.
Abdul Waheed Shah SSP, the Guest of Honour, applauded the opportunity provided to senior cricketers to showcase their skills and potential.
The inaugural match saw J&K Game Changers defeating JK ACB Legends. In another thrilling encounter, JK Warriors secured victory against Horizon Stars by a narrow margin of 1 wicket. Horizon Stars, in turn, clinched a victory against Game Changers by 7 wickets. The matches showcased outstanding performances, with players like Peter, Dhaleep, and Pardeep Bali earning the prestigious title of Man of the Match in their respective games.
The officials overseeing the matches were Vijay Raina, Ashok Kumar, and Amit Gill, with RP Singh efficiently conducting the proceedings of the inauguration ceremony. The championship promises to be an exciting journey, celebrating the spirit of cricket and camaraderie among the veterans.
