Early Times Report
KATHUA, Jan 8: In the enchanting district of Kathua, a heartwarming success story unfolded reflecting how the Agriculture Department has taken center stage in transforming the lives of rural women.
Neelam Rani, once a homemaker with boundless dreams, steps into the spotlight during the "Meri Kahani Meri Zubani" segment of the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
With heartfelt gratitude, Neelam narrates how the Agriculture Department's initiatives became the driving force behind a remarkable journey towards economic independence. "Our humble homes have become the epicenter of change," she expresses, acknowledging the unwavering support that the government schemes provided.
Neelam applauds the dedication of the District Agriculture Department, emphasizing their crucial role in the transformative process. "They believed in us when others doubted, turning unused poultry sheds into thriving mushroom units. Their continuous support has made Jandi village a testament to the impact of government schemes."
The self-help groups formed under Neelam's leadership become a pivotal part of the narrative. "Venturing into entrepreneurship with the guidance of the Agriculture Department, we have become proud owners of mushroom production units. It's not just about mushrooms; it's about breaking barriers and redefining possibilities."
Neelam proudly announces the establishment of the district's first women's FPO (Farmer Producer Organisation), a milestone achieved through the foresight and commitment of the Agriculture Department. "This is a symbol of women's empowerment, made possible by the government's support," she declares.
Looking to the future, Neelam reveals aspirations beyond expectations. "Our mushroom business is flourishing, and we are even requesting an AC unit for sustainability in the scorching summers. The Agriculture Department's support has made us dreamers and achievers."
