Nadda asks J&K BJP leaders to devise concrete strategy
1/8/2024 11:21:31 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 8: After the cancellation of his visit to Jammu due to bad weather on Sunday, BJP national president J P Nadda will call J&K leaders at Delhi after January 22 to finalize strategy for the coming Lok Sabha elections in the Union Territory.
Highly placed sources said that during his virtual meeting with the core group of J&K BJP, Nadda emphasized holding physical meetings with senior leaders to devise a concrete strategy for the coming Parliamentary elections in J&K. Sources said that JP Nadda informed the J&K leaders that in the coming days physical meeting will be held in Delhi in connection with the Lok Sabha elections.
Sources said that the meeting will be held after January 22 and J&K BJP leaders have been asked to prepare a detailed report about the party’s planning to face united candidates of opposition in J&K.
Sources said that the national leadership of the BJP is aware that unlike in 2019 when opposition parties fought against each other in Kashmir Valley this time the opposition will field a single candidate to stop the BJP from opening its account in Kashmir.
On two seats of Jammu province, the BJP is in a comfortable position but the party’s central leadership is not ready to take any risk so a strategy would be devised to stop some groups like the Panthers Party of Harsh Dev Singh and Dogra Swabhaman Sangthan Party of Choudhary Lal Singh to support opposition candidates.
As reported earlier, the BJP has already conducted an internal survey through a private agency to review the performance of sitting Lok Sabha members in Jammu and Kashmir.
After his visit was cancelled on Sunday, J P Nadda addressed a meeting of the core group of J&K BJP leaders through virtual mode.
In the virtual meeting, Nadda received feedback from party leaders but remained unconcluded as it was not possible to seek back from senior leaders separately.
As reported earlier, Nadda’s visit to Jammu on Sunday was cancelled due to bad weather.
