| Bovine smuggling attempts foiled, 48 bovines rescued in Udhampur | | |

UDHAMPUR, Jan 8: Udhampur Police rescued 48 Bovines and seized 03 vehicles used for bovine smuggling.
Team of Police Station Majalta foiled two bovine smuggling bids in which 37 bovines were rescued and 02 vehicles (truck and container) bearing registration number Jk03G 4627 and HR 38S 5282 seized from battal nakapoint.02 accused persons namely Amar Dev S/O Sanjeev Dev R/O Assam and Zakir Hussain S/O Mohd. Iqbal R/O Mira Sahib, Jammu got arrested. In this regard, two cases FIR No. 02/2024 and 03/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Majalta. One more bovine smuggling case, in which 11 bovines were rescued by the Police team of Police Post Tikri from the cluthes of bovine smuggler and vehicle bearing registration numberJK02AH9585 seized.
