Thoughts of Swami Vivekananda eternal in today's era: Kavinder

JAMMU, Jan 11: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former deputy Chief Minister, today paid tributes to the enduring thoughts and wisdom of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing their eternal relevance in shaping India's future. He highlighted the profound impact Swami Vivekananda's teachings continue to have on the nation's ethos.
The senior BJP leader was speaking after inaugurating the statue of Swami Vivekananda ji in the premises of Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital Jammu. On the occasion, management of Swami Vivekananda Hospital, Jammu, senior doctors and prominent citizens of Jammu City were present. Senior BJP leaders who accompanied Kavinder Gupta include Sat Sharma, Vinay Gupta, Narendra Koki, Ankush Gupta, Bharat Bushan, Vishal, Rajinder, Dinesh Gupta, Kuldeep Magotra, Suneet Raina, Parduman Singh, Purnima Sharma, Sanjita Dogra, Bipna Manhas, Anita Gandotra, Suman Raina, Aarti Thakur Koul, Sunita Raina, Updesh Andotra and Indu Puri.
He expressed that Swami Vivekananda's ideas are not confined to any particular era but are timeless, resonating with the spirit of India and inspiring generations to strive for excellence. He underscored the need to imbibe Swami Vivekananda's values in everyday life to foster unity, tolerance, and progress in the country.
As India is going to celebrate the National Youth Day on Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary tomorrow, the senior BJP leader urged the youth to draw inspiration from the revered spiritual leader's ideals and contribute towards building a stronger, self-reliant, and culturally rich nation.
The senior BJP leader affirmed the Modi government's commitment in promoting Swami Vivekananda's teachings through educational initiatives, cultural programs, and events that encourage the youth to connect with their roots and uphold the country's glorious heritage. He emphasized that the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda will continue to guide the nation towards prosperity, unity, and the realization of its true potential.
It is noteworthy to mention that the statue of Swami Vivekananda Ji was generously donated by Kavinder Gupta. Additionally, two more statues, one of the late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji and the other of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, have been installed at prominent locations in Jammu, and the associated expenses were covered by Kavinder Gupta.
During his tenure as Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta played a pivotal role in the installation of various statues in Jammu city. Notable figures such as Maharaja Hari Singh, Acharya Chanakya, Jai Prakash Narayan, and many others found a place in the cityscape, contributing to the cultural and historical richness of the region.
Earlier, Dr Subhash Gupta, Chief Patron of the Hospital and former Principal GMC Jammu, informed that that the Hospital is providing charitable medical services to the poor and needy people at affordable rates irrespective of cast, colour, creed and religion of the patients. He said that the Hospital has also been registered for the Ayushman Bharat scheme for surgical, orthopaedic and other patients free of costs.
Among those who were present include Amar Chand Gupta, Senior Vice President, Atma Saroop Gupta Vice President, B.B Gupta General Secretary, B.S Jamwal, Secretary, Mohan Singh Chauhan, Dr SAtya Dev Gupta, Dr Brij Mohan Gupta, Dr S.L Shri., Dr Neeraj Puri, Dr Dharamveer Chopra, Dr Sachin Gupta, Shankar Dutt Sharma, Dr Jatinder Gupta and Dr. Ramesh Gupta (Administration).
