Police intercept truck loaded with cruelly treated bovine animals | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 18: In a significant operation today, police at PP Manwal intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK03K-3997 at Naka Point Nadal. The vehicle, en route from Battal/Samba to Udhampur/Kashmir, was subjected to a thorough inspection that uncovered a distressing situation - 15 bovine animals were found loaded in a cruel and merciless manner, lacking any valid DM permission. Swift action was taken by the police, leading to the rescue of the mistreated bovine animals. The authorities seized the vehicle, but the driver managed to escape from the scene. In response to this alarming incident, PP Manwal has taken cognizance of the matter and promptly sent a detailed report to P/S Jhajar Kotli for the initiation of a First Information Report (FIR). This disturbing case highlights the urgency of addressing animal welfare issues and ensuring that those responsible for such mistreatment are held accountable. Authorities are actively investigating the matter to bring justice to the rescued animals and take legal action against the perpetrators. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of enforcing regulations to prevent the inhumane treatment of animals during transportation. |
