Early Times Report JHAJJAR KOTLI, Jan 18: In a successful operation during the intervening night, the police at Jhajjar Kotli thwarted yet another attempt of bovine smuggling. Acting on information received about an unidentified individual in the Nandani area cruelly and mercilessly transporting 13 bovines towards Kashmir on foot, tied together with ropes, the Police Party of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli immediately sprang into action. Upon reaching the scene, the bovine smugglers managed to escape, leaving behind the distressed animals. A total of 16 bovines were rescued, and further inspection revealed a Tata mobile with registration number JK06A9586 loaded with three additional bovines. In response to this incident, two cases under FIR No.15-16/2024 have been registered, citing violations under Section 188 of the IPC, 11 of the PCA Act, and 11,12,13 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Transportation of Animals on Foot) Rules. The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, emphasizing the commitment to curbing illegal activities that endanger the welfare of animals. This intervention underscores the ongoing efforts to enforce stringent measures against those involved in such unlawful practices. |
