Samba police apprehends six hardcore dacoits, thieves, recovers stolen goods

SAMBA, Jan 18: In a relentless pursuit against criminal activities, the Samba Police have successfully arrested six notorious individuals involved in dacoities and thefts, leading to the recovery of looted cash, stolen items, and a sharp-edged weapon. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Benam Tosh, confirmed the significant achievements in the ongoing crackdown against criminals in the region.
The arrested hardcore criminals have been identified as Balwinder Singh alias Billi, Sunil Sharma alias Kadhu, Abhishek Kumar alias Panku, Sohan Lal, Kashiv Sharma alias Tundu alias Daana, and Ram Paul alias Kaka. Their arrests were made in the jurisdictions of Police Station Vijaypur, PS Ghagwal, and PS Samba.
Balwinder Singh, Sunil Sharma, and Abhishek Kumar, apprehended in connection with a dacoity case (FIR No. 05/2024), faced charges under sections 395, 341, 34 IPC, and 4/25 Arms Act of PS Vijaypur. The police successfully recovered looted cash, valuable items, and a sharp-edged weapon from their possession.
Sohan Lal, a notorious thief, was arrested in connection with case FIR No.19/2024 under sections 457 and 380 IPC of PS Samba. Stolen items, including a bike, were recovered from his possession.
Kashiv Sharma alias Tundu alias Daana and Ram Paul alias Kaka were apprehended in connection with case FIR No. 04/2024 under section 379 IPC of PS Ghagwal.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, emphasized the proactive approach of the police force in tackling criminal elements. He reported that the intensive drive against dacoits, robbers, snatchers, and thieves has resulted in the arrest of 187 individuals and the resolution of 88 theft cases in a short span of time.
The successful operations underscore the commitment of Samba Police to ensure the safety and security of the community by swiftly bringing criminals to justice and recovering stolen property. The crackdown is part of a broader strategy to maintain law and order in the Samba district.
