Himachal Govt defies high-command’s diktat, announces holiday today | Pran Prathishtha Ceremony | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 21: A day after Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring distributed sweets among people in connection with the ‘Pran Pratishtha’, Congress government in Himachal Pradesh took another step by announcing holiday on January 22. Realizing that sentiments of the people are attached with the Ram temple, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday announced a public holiday on January 22 in view of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced holiday for January 22, despite being the fact that Congress high command has boycotted consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The Chief Minister also appealed to the people of Himachal Pradesh to light earthen lamps at home on the occasion. “Lord Ram does not belong to a particular political party, but he is everyone’s ideal and culture of the country,” he said, apparently referring to the BJP. “I will light a lamp in my house and encourage others to do the same. I will definitely visit the temple in Ayodhya in the near future,” Sukhu said. He further said that a statue of Lord Ram will be built in Jakhu. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ at the Ram temple in Ayodhya will take place on January 22 and will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries. As reported earlier, after Gujarat Congress leaders raised banner of revolt against party high command for boycotting Ram temple event at Ayodhya, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring spread happiness among the residents of Gidderbaha by distributing sweets and Diyas. |
