Govt College for Women Bhagwati Nagar raises awareness on India semiconductor mission | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 13: The Department of Environmental Sciences and IQAC at Govt. College for Women Bhagwati Nagar organized an awareness lecture on the India Semiconductor Mission under the patronage of Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol. Dr. Mosmi Raina commenced the program with a welcome address, highlighting the theme focused on the India Semiconductor Mission and the opportunities it presents in artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, and design within India. Mehmood Ahmad, the resource person for the lecture, emphasized the significance of semiconductors as the backbone for emerging technologies. He stressed that with semiconductor manufacturing concentrated in a few countries, there's a vast opportunity for India in this sector. The India Semiconductor Mission, initiated in 2021, aims to develop sustainable semiconductor manufacturing facilities and a design ecosystem within the country. It serves as a focal point for comprehensive and efficient development in consultation with government ministries, departments, industries, and academia. Following the lecture, attendees witnessed the live streaming of the foundation stone laying ceremony for three semiconductor facilities in Gujarat and Assam by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The program saw participation from students and staff of the college." |
