Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 13: The IIC Cell of SPMR College of Commerce, in collaboration with IQAC and NSS Unit, organized a live streaming of India's Techade: Chips for Viksit Bharat program, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event took place not only at the main campus but also at the BBA and BCA Campus. Dr. Jai Prakash Verma, Regional Director of IGNOU, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while the college's Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh, was the guest of honour. Over 100 students and faculty members attended the program. Addressing the audience, Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh emphasized the significance of technological advancements in the modern age. He praised the inauguration of three semiconductor projects by the Hon'ble Prime Minister, amounting to 1.25 lakh crore, which he believes will propel the nation towards self-reliance in technology. He urged students to acquire tech skills alongside their academic courses to thrive in the digital era and contribute to the country's development. Dr. Jai Prakash Verma highlighted the importance of semiconductors in design, manufacturing, and technology development, stressing their role in creating employment opportunities for the youth. The event was coordinated by IQAC Convener Prof. Ashraf Nawaz, IIC Member Prof. Sanjeev Verma, Prof. Monika Mahajan, Prof. Shallu Gupta, and NSS Programme Officers Prof. Deepshikha Sharma and Dr. Deepak Pathania.
