Jammu, Mar 15: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is waiting for the National Conference to declare its candidates for three Lok Sabha seats of Kashmir Valley. After the National Conference declares its candidates, PDP will disclose the names of its nominees for the coming Lok Sabha elections. Highly placed sources said that names of the PDP candidates have been finalized during recent meetings of the party but the formal announcement would be made only after party arch-rival NC will declare its candidates. “After the NC declares its candidate, PDP leadership will announce its candidates to give a message to the masses that the party tried its best to give a joint fight to BJP”, a source said and added that the PDP leadership will try to corner and expose NC’s before the masses for Kashmir for indirectly helping the BJP by not leaving even a single seat for the party. Omar Abdullah, in a recent press conference, reiterated party’s stance and emphasized that his party was unwilling to yield the Anantnag seat to the PDP. He argued that if the primary goal of the Congress-led INDIA alliance was to defeat the BJP, the PDP should concede, as it lacked electoral strength in any of the six seats across the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh. |
