Bhartiya Kala Sangam holds Dogri Folk Music programm

JAMMU, Apr 3: Bhartiya Kala Sangam, Jammu today held Dogri Folk Music programm under Repertory Grant, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, New Delhi in which large number of art lovers attended the event.
In this program, Kavinder Gupta, former Dy. Chief Minister was Chief Guest. Sohail Kazmi, Patron , T.R. Sharma, KAS (Retd), Chairman, Ramesh Singh Chib, Director, Bhartiya Kala Sangam, Leela Thakur Jamwal Advisor (BKS) renowned Singers Anupama Sharma and art lovers were also present. Besides Nidhi Dogra, Patron Dogra Samaj Trust, Mombai was the special guest. The function was organised under the overall supervision of Vaishno Rani, who is President of Bharatiya Kala Sangam.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta lauded the constant efforts of BKS to organise various functions earlier also and congratulated the management of BKS for presenting an enchanting dogri folk music show.
Earlier welcoming the guests and distinguished audience, T.R.Sharma gave a brief account of various cultural activities undertaken by BKS since 1980 adding that considerable numbers of events with regard to art, culture and languages have been held in Jammu and Kashmir involving various categories of artists. He said that the platform of BKS is always open for the artists, especially budding talented artists. He further said that many budding artists have been groomed by experts and seasoned artists engaged by Bhartiya Kala Sangam, who have been made to perform and showcase their talent at various platforms.
In the program, the well acclaimed artists and other renowned persons were felicitated for their significant contribution in their respective fields.
Those who participated in the show were Tilak Raj Tagotra, Bishan Dass, Paramjit Tittu, Vijay Jittu, Ramesh Chander Director Rectory Grant, Sudesh Manas, Aditya Kumar, Sartik Raj Singers. Bishan Dass on Harmonium, Joginder Pal was on Table, Chandan Jassu on Sinth.
The program was anchored by Rajni Sharma and vote of thanks presented by Ramesh Singh Chib, Director, BKS.
