"Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai": Omar on Azad contesting LS polls | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 3: National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that there was something fishy about Ghulam Nabi Azad's contesting polls from Anantnag- Rajouri Lok Sabha seat. Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) on Tuesday announced that Ghulam Nabi Azad, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, will contest the Lok Sabha election from Anantnag -Rajouri constituency. ".. I am quite surprised that Azad Sahab has chosen to fight from Anantnag-Rajouri- Poonch. I would have thought that if he was that keen to enter the Parliament he should have fought the election from his bastion. His strength is believed to be Chenab Valley. I would have thought he would have fought from Udhampur seat. The fact is that he is not fighting from Udhampur and he is contesting from Rajouri-Poonch, clearly there is more than meets the eye. As the saying goes "Daal mein kuch kaala hai", he remarked. The NC Vice President said he could not say as to what can be the reason and under what pressure Azad is fighting from the Anantnag-Rajouri seat. "We have fielded one of our best candidates for the people as Mian Altaf . Whosoever is contesting against him, we hope that Mian Altaf will win the elections with a thumping victory", he added. |
