Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 3: Tarun Uppal, Chairman of the Nirbhay Bharat Foundation, inaugurated a 2-day under-17 cricket tournament at Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji Mini Stadium in Gole Gujral, Jammu, organised by the Academy of Unity. The slogan of the tournament is "Say no to drugs, yes to sports". Speaking on the occasion, Uppal said that the event is being organised with an objective to serve a twin purpose of promoting sports in the Union Territory and involving more and more youth in sporting activities to save them from falling prey to drugs and other allied social evils. The sports enthusiasts should adopt sports field for better career progression and work with more zeal and dedication in this field besides terming sports activities vital for maintaining physical and mental well being. The tournament features teams like Ravi Das Cricket Club vs. Night Bash Masters, The Dominators vs. Tiny Tots School, Ram Rangers vs. Team Worrier, Jammu Deccan Gladiators vs. Gole Gujral Lions, JKMS vs. Pooja Public High School, Smash Kings XI vs. The Sky Star Worriers, Elite Public High School vs. Kalka 11, and K.S Public School vs. One Team One Dream. The matches are officiated by Kajal Devi, Sangeeta, Pooja Rana, Amit Sahu, and Raghav Mehra, under the supervision of chief organiser Sunil Kumar. |
