Jammu, Apr 28: SR College of Competitions (SRCC) recently organized an interactive workshop for aspiring civil servants at its premises in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The session was led by Suvan Sharma, a DySP Probationer of J&K Police who successfully cleared the UPSC examination in 2023, securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 412. During the session, Suvan Sharma generously shared insights from his personal journey, recounting his initial inspiration for pursuing civil services and the challenges he encountered along the way. He discussed his strategies for competitive examinations, offering solutions to common obstacles faced by aspirants. A comprehensive overview of the syllabus, including General Studies, optional subjects, and essay papers, was provided, along with guidance on exam patterns, study materials, and the importance of current affairs and test series. Sharma also delved into previous year’s question papers, offering valuable insights into question types and focus areas. Attendees had the opportunity to seek clarification on various topics, including the ethics and integrity paper, answer writing techniques, and UPSC interview preparation. Sharma emphasized the significance of regular practice and encouraged students to engage in answer writing exercises. The workshop received an overwhelming response from aspirants preparing for the IAS 2024 & 25, JKAS 2024 & 25, as well as undergraduates aspiring for future eligibility. Participants lauded the initiative taken by SR College of Competitions, acknowledging its role in fostering confidence and motivation among aspirants. Parveen Sharma, Director of SR College, expressed satisfaction with the workshop’s success, noting that such interactions serve to inspire and instill a sense of determination among aspirants.
