Blind Murder Case: Missing turned into murder, accused arrested

Reasi, May 5: On 9 December 2023 an information was received at Police Station Chassana that one dead body of the deceased namely Mohd Rafiq S/O Mahamdu R/O Jia Baggo Dass was found in suspicious circumstances at Village Jia Baggo Dass.
On this information, an inquest proceeding under Section 174 Cr.PC vide DDR No. 04 was initiated at P/S Chassana and inquiry taken up.
During the course of inquiry it was observed that the deceased had been killed by some unknown persons on which the instant inquest was converted and accordingly a formal case FIR No. 08/2024 U/S 302, 120 B IPC was registered at Police Station Chassana and investigation was taken up by Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao SHO P/S Chassana under the close supervision of Ajaz Choudhary SDPO Mahore and overall Supervision of MS Mohita SharmaIPS SSP Reasi.
During the course of investigation some suspects were rounded up and after strenuous efforts and with the help of technical assistance it came into fore that during the intervening night of 8/9 December 2023 four persons namely:
1. Nazir Ahmed S/O Ruslla
2. Shabir Ahmed S/O Mohd Abdullah
3. Nazir Ahmed S/O Abdullah and
4. Farooq Ahmed S/O Bashir Ahmed
all residents of Jia Baggo Dass met together at the house of one Nazir Ahmed S/O Ruslla and hatched a criminal conspiracy against the deceased and assaulted the deceased with a stick on his head resulting which the deceased died on the spot. Thereafter all the accused persons took the dead body and dumped it about 500 metre away in a road from the place of crime. As investigation progressed, all the four accused were arrested and on their disclosure the weapon of offence was also recovered. Locals have hailed the efforts and professionalism of police in solving this blind Murder.
SSP Reasi expressed that such barbaric acts done by criminals is rarest of the rare, and such criminals are a black spot on our social fabric. She further stressed that investigation shall incorporate each and every evidence to ensure justice is ensured in this heinous act.
