5/13/2024 9:31:37 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 13: National Conference Additional General Secretary and Former Minister Mr AjayKumar Sadhotra today exhorted the young voters, especially the first timers, to seize the opportunity of participating in the biggest democratic exercise of the world’s largest democracy and electing a representative capable of solving their problems and fostering harmony in the society. Interacting students from Rajouri and Poonch areas of the Poonch-Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency, studying in the University of Jammu, Cluster University and the Degree Colleges at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan here, Mr Ajay Sadhotra made an appeal for voting and supporting the
National Conference Candidate Mian Altaf Ahmad, an eminent political and spiritual leader and religious scholar.
Sadhotra described Mian Altaf as an embodiment of honesty, compassion and dedication, saying his track record as Member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislature and Minister has been unblemished and success story of serving the people, especially those marginalized and belonging to disadvantageous areas. He said Mian Sahib possess the vision, integrity and compassion to lead communities towards holistic solutions and societal harmony. He has successfully brought together the principles of ethical governance and spiritual wisdom, fostering a values-based approach to decision-making and policy formulation in various capacities in the government and as a spiritual leader, he added.
Making a fervent appeal to the electors of Poonch-Rajouri-Anantnag Constituency, particularly the youth, to come forward in a big way and cast their votes in favour of Mian Altaf, the NC Additional General Secretary said that Jammu and Kashmir is passing through a most difficult phase and time has come to isolate divisive and reactionary elements who are against the unity and diversity of the two regions and diverse religions and cultures. He blamed the exploitative political call for exploiting sentiments of the people to further their political agenda and said these machinations are aimed to create a wedge between different segments of the society, which is against the secular fabric of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We have to maintain at all costs the unity and tranquility, which is at peril due to politics of division and hate”, Mr Sadhotra said, adding that National Conference has all along withstood challenges by offering numerous sacrifices to uphold the dignity of the people, irrespective of religion, caste or region.
He said the National Conference has a track record of serving people and this spirit is needed to be sustained and promoted by weathering all odds unitedly. He said focused attention is needed to be given to fulfill the deep yearning of youth to save their future and encourage them to play their useful role in nation building.
Sadhotra asked the electors to make a choice between progressive forces and those believing in myopic politics, aimed at dividing the society on the basis of religion, caste and region. He exuded confidence about the win of Mian Altaf Ahmed by a big margin. The participants assuredn National Conference leader that they will make all out efforts to ensure that Mian Altaf Ahmad wins with a huge margin. Prominent among those participated in the interaction are Liaqat Ali, Ishtiaq Ahmad, Sadaqat Ali, Jamal-ul-haq, Mohd Asif, Maroof Ahmad, Zahoor Ahmad, Mohd Arshaf, Mohd Yasin, Bilal Ahmad, Ghulam Mustafa and Mohabbat Ali.
