Jammu, May 13: After 40 long years, Srinagar Parliamentary constituency recorded a polling percentage of around 40 percent as people in a large number came out to exercise their franchise on Monday. According to the official data on the total polling released by the J&K Chief Electoral Office (CEO), Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency recorded 39% polling and the figure is all set to go up. The last time it was in 1984 when the Srinagar Parliamentary constituency had recorded 73.51 percent polling. After 1984 the highest polling on this seat was 40 percent in the 1996 Lok Sabha elections. In 1996, the Srinagar parliamentary constituency had a total of 786301 electors. Total number of valid vote was 297891. After 1984 the highest polling on this seat was 40 percent in the 1996 Lok Sabha elections.
