Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, May 13: In a pioneering initiative aimed at nurturing the aspirations of UPSC civil service candidates, the Student Welfare Committee of GDC Kishtwar, led by Dr. Sehrish Gazal (Dean) and Dr. Tabassum Saleem (Asstt. Dean), joined hands with the District Administration Kishtwar to organize a transformative one-day program titled "A Day in the Life of a Deputy Collector." Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Basharat Iqbal, Principal of GDC Kishtwar, this program provided a select group of thirteen students with a rare opportunity to shadow Dr. Devansh Yadav, the Deputy Collector of Kishtwar. The event kicked off with an enthusiastic welcome as students greeted Dr. Yadav with roses, symbolizing their eagerness to learn from his experiences. Through an online Voice Conference, students engaged in insightful dialogues with Deputy Commissioners from diverse regions, offering them a comprehensive understanding of governance and administration at the state level. Throughout the day, students actively participated in various meetings and observed the intricate functioning of the Deputy Collector's office, gaining firsthand knowledge of the challenges and responsibilities inherent in the role. Sharing lunch with Dr. Yadav provided a relaxed yet informative setting for discussions on governance and public service intricacies. Dr. Devansh Yadav, revered for his dedication and intelligence, has emerged as an inspiring figure for the youth, catalyzing significant developmental activities in Kishtwar despite its rugged terrain. His commitment to public service and educational empowerment has not only transformed the district but has also motivated numerous students to pursue civil services with determination. The "A Day in the Life of a Deputy Collector" program underscores GDC Kishtwar's holistic approach to education and its mission to groom socially responsible citizens. Such initiatives not only enrich students' educational experiences but also inspire a new generation of leaders ready to serve the nation with integrity and diligence.
