JAMMU, July 4: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) boys cadets of GGM Science College, Jammu on 4th of July, 2024 organized a successful cleanliness drive aimed at raising awareness about Swachhta (cleanliness) and improving the hygiene of the college campus and its surrounding areas. Along with Principal Sir, ANO Lt(Dr) Devinder Kumar Sharma and Dr Sunil Dutt (Dept of Physics) also enlightened the cadets by actively taking part in this drive.
The drive began with an inspiring speech by the college principal, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta who emphasized the role of students in leading societal change and the significance of maintaining a clean environment. Following this, the NCC cadets, equipped with cleaning tools and protective gear, embarked on a mission to clean the college premises and nearby localities.
Throughout the day, the cadets engaged in various activities, including: Litter Collection, Awareness Campaign and Community Interaction. The drive received enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and local residents, making it a resounding success. The collaborative efforts not only resulted in a cleaner environment but also fostered a sense of community and shared responsibility for maintaining cleanliness. The NCC officers and college administration expressed their pride in the cadets' dedication and hard work. "Our cadets have shown exemplary leadership and commitment to the cause of Swachhta. Their efforts have made a tangible difference, and we hope this drive inspires others to take similar initiatives," said ANO Lt Dr Devinder Kumar Sharma.
