Jammu, July 4: After former minister Syed Basharat Bukhari, three more former legislators are in touch with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership for the “Ghar Wapsi” in the party.
Highly placed sources said that two former legislators of Rajouri district including a former minister of the previous PDP-BJP government have opened a channel of communication with the PDP leaders to explore the possibility of rejoining the party.
Highly placed sources said that these former legislators have left the PDP after the collapse of the PDP-BJP government and joined a regional party.
“As the same regional party has failed to make an impact in the recently held Lok Sabha elections these leaders are seriously thinking of rejoining their parent party”, sources said, adding, “Talks are going with these leaders and things wou

Two former legislators of Rajouri district including a former minister are holding talks with the PDP leaders to explore the possibility of rejoining the party.
Apart from two former legislators of the Rajouri district, another ex-legislator from North Kashmir has also approached PDP leadership for the Ghar-Wapsi.
Dozens of senior PDP leaders including former ministers and legislators had left the party in 2018.

Sources said that this former legislator has recently resigned from a regional party of Kashmir Valley.
In the month of June 2018, PDP had five MPs (three Lok Sabha, two Rajya Sabha members) 28 MLAs, and 14 MLCs in its kitty. There was also a strong grassroots level organization structure of the party at that time but as of now only a couple of former legislators are left within the party.
Dozens of senior PDP leaders including former ministers and legislators left the party after the BJP withdrew its support to the Mehbooba-led coalition government in June 2018 and most of them joined the Apni Party led by Altaf Bukhari or the Peoples Conference led by Sajjad Lone.
