SAMBA, July 4; SANKALP, HEW Samba organized an awareness program at Panchayat Ghar Badheri and Dhora here today, focusing on women-centric provisions in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhinta. The team emphasized the critical importance of legal awareness among women in ensuring their safety, dignity, and justice. The program highlighted the pivotal role of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhinta in providing robust legal safeguards against crimes such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, and other forms of gender-based violence. An overview of key provisions in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhinta that offer protection and recourse to women was also deliberated upon. These include laws against domestic violence (Section 498A), sexual harassment (Section 354), and dowry-related offences. The session aimed to empower women by informing them of their legal rights and the mechanisms available to protect them. The initiative is a part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign, reflecting the commitment to uphold the rights and dignity of women, ensuring a safer and just society for all. |
