Jammu, July 15: A day after the National Conference vice president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah sought support from Jammu to “counter” the Centre’s attempt to “disempower” the people J&K, BJP leader ex-NC leader Davinder Singh Rana hit back at Omar for his “love” for Jammu people. In an obvious reference to today's report in the Early Times, Rana, the former political advisor of Omar Abdullah, said, “Today one opposition leader is seeking the support of the people of Jammu. I was also in the same party and I left that party because I was not allowed to raise the issue related to Jammu”. “Those who are now demanding the support of the people of Jammu could find it difficult to digest when I raised the issues related to the Jammu region. I left that party due to the anti-Jammu mindset of the leadership of that party”, he said. “Today situation has changed. After the abrogation of Article 370 and due to some effective steps tak Today one opposition leader is seeking the support of the people of Jammu. I was also in the same party and I left that party because I was not allowed to raise the issue related to Jammu. I left that party due to the anti-Jammu mindset of the leadership of that party. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have politically empowered Jammu region which faced the worst ever discrimination by the same party. n by the BJP-led Union Government Jammu has become a power centre”, he said, adding, “Union Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah has politically empowered Jammu region which faced worst ever discrimination by the same party”, Rana said while lambasting the National Conference without mentioning the name of the party. Notable on Sunday Omar sought the support of the people of the Jammu region to counter the move of the BJP government to, what he alleged, disempower the people of J&K. “The people of J&K, especially Jammu, will have to vote against the nefarious intentions of the BJP-led NDA government which wants to disempower the people of J&K. A strong government in J&K with a solid mandate is the only answer to this order because it’s going to be a tough fight to get our statehood back”, Omar Abdullah posted on his social media account while reacting to a report regarding powers of the Legislative Assembly of the J&K. |
