Jammu, Oct 27: IGNOU students are facing severe difficulties due to the university's official website being non-functional for the past three days.
As the last date of submitting the examination forms ended today i.e. (October 27, 2024) many students were left worried hoping that the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) would extend the date.
The technical issues didn’t allow many students to complete their forms, adding to their stress as they feared incurring late fees.
Adding to the frustration, several students who have already made payments for their exam forms stated that their payments were not being reflected on the website, with no refunds issued so far.
“If the issues are not resolved we will be forced to pay an additional Rs. 1100 as a late fee for submission,” they said.
Students urged IGNOU to address website malfunctions and extend the deadline without additional penalties to prevent further distress.
When contacted Dr Jai Prakash Verma, Regional Director, IGNOU RC Jammu while talking to Early Times said, “Our website has been facing issues for the past few days as the maintenance work of the website is going on in New Delhi. Students are unable to fill up the forms and we have informed the headquarters and the issue will be resolved soon.”
He assured the students the last date for submission of examination forms will be extended and they need not worry.
