Two drug peddlers arrested | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 19: In a significant success under Operation Sanjeevani, the R.S Pura Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized 7.78 grams of Charas-like substance and 48 tablets of Clonazepam in a crackdown on drug trafficking. On 17th December 2024, a police team from R.S Pura Police Station, led by SHO PS R.S Pura and assisted by other officials, was conducting routine patrolling when they set up a naka at Village Banota. During the search, two suspects were apprehended, identified as Tinku Kumar, son of Tilak Raj, and Sahil Kumar, son of Om Parkash, both residents of Banota, Tehsil R.S Pura, District Jammu. Upon searching the suspects, 7.78 grams of Charas-like substance and 48 tablets of Clonazepam were recovered from their possession. A case under FIR No. 268/2024 U/S 8/20/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered, and both accused individuals were arrested. The investigation is ongoing, aiming to trace the source of the contraband and uncover any links to a larger drug network. The arrests were made under the supervision of SDPO R.S Pura and SP Hqrs Jammu, marking another significant step in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in the region. J&K Police continue to urge citizens to come forward with any information to help eradicate drug-related crimes, as part of the collective effort to create a safer, drug-free society. |
