Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 31: Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah Tuesday claimed that there would be no reason for disappointment, as next December 5 would be declared as a holiday to commemorate the anniversary of Sheikh Abdullah. "Inshallah, next December 5 will be a holiday" Wani told reporters as per news gathering agency KINS. Nasir also highlighted the unprecedented speed with which essential services, including electricity and roads, were restored following heavy snowfall in the Valley. He said that for the first time in history, such rapid restoration efforts were carried out, and it was largely due to the direct involvement of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. "The Chief Minister personally stationed himself here, continuously taking stock of the situation and receiving regular updates," Wani said. "This swift restoration has been highly praised by the people, and the efforts reflect our commitment to the welfare of the public." "The restoration of electricity and roads was completed in record time, a feat that we have never witnessed before. For the first time, we've seen such a swift recovery, and the people of the region are deeply appreciative," Wani added. |
